Zippy, Zany Zombies Zing Zydeco with Zeal and Zest.....

Z is for Zed and Zenith.....

The end and the highest point in the heavens....one ending, and one continuance.

It's actually hard to believe the A-Z challenge has come to an end. It's even harder to believe that I actually made it all the way to the end. Blogging on a regular basis has never been something I was disciplined enough to make happen. It's one thing to write a short poem or a character sketch or even a story scene everyday. But, to come up with something interesting for every letter of the alphabet with no other limitations, it can be mind-boggling.

I'm grateful to have participated this year and excited for next year-- now that I kinda know what I'm doing. I'm also extremely grateful for my new little minions that have followed me along this treacherous alphabetic journey. Thank you so much for your time and your thoughtful comments, each one has meant so much!

So, we have finally come to Zed, to the end of the run. But, because coming to the end doesn't always mean the show is over, if you'd like to stick around after, we've got the trip to the Zenith starting soon....

Story A Day begins tomorrow May 1st. For anybody interested, click here, and you can create your own profile and join in the fun. For anybody that just wants to hang around, I'll probably post some of the stories here, just for fun :-) It should be interesting, I've never tried to write a story a day. If I succeed, I'll come out with 31 short stories...if I don't succeed, I'll still come out with more stories than I would have had anyway :-)

A-Z might be at an end, but the journey continues.... my Zenith is somewhere out there, that'll be my next stop! What about you??

  1. Good grief!! *Slaps forehead* I wrote a story (and a few poems) a day for the A to Z Challenge! If I had known there was a dedicated challenge to story writing, I would have picked a different theme for A to Z.
Sigh. Always a day late and a dollar short. Glad you mentioned this. Even though I'm worn out, I'll tune in to read others' stories (yours included, I hope).

  2. LOL, aw.... you can still join the fun at Story A Day! You're allowed to set your own rules, so you don't have to write 31 stories if you don't want to :-)

Thanks for hanging out at my blog and hopefully my Story A Day attempts will keep everyone entertained :-)

  6. That's just it...I'm hoping the momentum will hold over for awhile. Even if I burn out mid-way, at least I'll have a dozen or so stories.

Plus, if I don't occupy myself with something new, it'll hit hard how much I'm going to miss doing A-Z and all the wonderful people I met :-(

  9. Outstanding!

I'm a little melancholy that A-Z is finished. Glad to know you'll still be posting daily!

I've thoroughly enjoyed your blog. When I found it, I thought, "Ohhh...look what's going on here...wish I'd thought of this..."

But then photographing imaginary creatures and the like is such a chore. I had my hands full as it was.

Hope you leave your A-Z post comments open for a while. I know I missed some. But I'll be leafing back through the days...

Off to my son's program now, but I'll be back to read your story tonight!

  10. Absolutely my comments will remain open!

Yours has been one of the most memorable blogs I've come across during this challenge, thanks for taking the time to visit mine :-)

Have fun at the program! And, I should be posting my 'story' soon :-)

A to Z reflections....

Another A to Z challenge comes to an end--- another collection of posts and poetry have been written, another deep breath of relief is released. For my fellow bloggers that survived as well, it's another 'challenge-completed' notch carved into the writing desk. I've come to enjoy my yearly foray into the world of all things alphabetical. This was my third year, though it was only the second year I had a workable theme (which made the challenge substantially easier than the first year I attempted this challenge.) And, though my first year was difficult because my focus was so scattered, I found this year was more  difficult because I lost the enthusiasm that came with the first year excitement----excitement which helped me plug along until the end of the challenge. Year 3 was a success in the sense that I completed the challenge, though, this was the year that almost wasn't---- Somewhere about a third of the way through the challenge, I seriously considered

A-Z Reflections, year 4....

A-Z blogging challenge for 2014 has come and gone, seemingly without my realizing it. And, though I fell behind once or twice toward the end, I finished this year's challenge right on time. Really, I can't believe it's already over. I feel like I just finished my post for letter A... Year 4, for this blogger, was a far cry from the tortured state of despondency that was most of  Year 3 -- I'll not mention the irony of this year's focus on death being easier to blog about than last year's foray into supernatural creatures, we'll leave that for my therapy sessions *ahem* As always, A-Z brought with it, not only 26 days of unbridled and far-reaching knowledge (disguised as entertaining and thought-provoking blog-posts), but a chance to connect with new faces while reconnecting with familiar faces--who had perhaps drifted away--from A-Z's past.  I am always amazed by the ingenuity and inspiration that comes from lumping a couple thousand folk

Remember and Return.....

I've settled my heart in the memory of your sigh, the subtle caress of your lips. I've eased my mind's worry in the warmth of your smile, the soft embrace of your kiss. But, the time of our parting has been of a length, that I scarce can recall your words' sound. And, I fear in the depths of this consuming absence, your passions withheld, your spirit's now bound. I have not the strength to fight such a foe, as wild and untamed as the sea. I have not the will to stand at your door, and demand your decision to be, As one or the other, the sea or my love, I know I would fail to win thee. My only request, when you've ventured enough, Remember! And, return unto me.
